Roemers is always looking at new ways to become eco-friendly, ensuring we contribute to a greener method in our manufacturing process. With our country facing water restrictions, we have opted to change our quenching method when coating tea knives.
Previously, we used a water quenching method and have now moved to an oil quenching method. Not only does this save water, but it is also better for the blade as it reduces the chance of cracking when quenching.
You will notice a change in the colour of the coated tea knives…they are no longer black, but a more charcoal/silver colour. DO NOT BE ALARMED! The integrity of the blade is still in tact and the new quenching method has not effect on blade strength, hardness and performance.
Should you need a test certificate, we would be happy to supply one and have attached one here.
